Rules Governing All League Play
The Ultimate Tennis Rules and Procedures provided below and in the Support Center will govern all league play and supersede all other tennis rules.
1) The current USTA Rules will govern play for procedures not covered by Ultimate Tennis Rules. However, the Ultimate Tennis League office reserves the right to make exceptions to USTA rules and make a ruling on any rule deemed inappropriate to the Ultimate Tennis League.
2) The Ultimate Tennis League office reserves the right to provide clarification of intent on any league rules deemed ambiguous or not clearly defined with regard to a specific situation or incident.
3) Ultimate Tennis reserves the right to add or remove a player from the regular season or the playoffs to preserve competitive match play when deemed necessary. Adjustments can be made even if players have met the necessary seeding or rating requirements.
4) If you are a new member you may not rate yourself at a level below your USTA rating. You must select a level at or above your USTA level in your first season. Players found playing below their USTA level are subject to being removed anytime during the regular season or the playoffs. When found, the Ultimate Tennis office will review the case and make a ruling.
Note: Your "team level" IS allowed to be below your USTA level - ONLY if your partner's playing level is low enough to produce a "team level" that is lower than your personal USTA level. For example a 3.0 and 4.0 USTA rated players ARE allowed play together at the 3.5 team level. See calculating your team level.
5) Ultimate Tennis reserves the right to permanently suspend players from the league that are caught manipulating points, scores or ratings.
6) Ultimate Tennis reserves the right at anytime to deny participation or remove a player from the league deemed disruptive to league play for any reason. See Code of Conduct.
7) Ultimate Tennis reserves the right to suspend league play at courts that do not meet our facility requirements.
8) Ultimate Tennis reserves the right to remove a player from the league or adjust the location of their playing division if their facility location is deemed to cause excessive driving for other members of a division.
9) Ultimate Tennis is an adult tennis league. Players must be 20 years or older in order to participate in any singles event. Players 18-19 are allowed to participate in a Doubles event provided they play with an adult member and preferably a parent.
