Sportsmanship
Good sportsmanship begins with treating your opponent with respect. The tone of the match is set from the first call you place to your opponent, to the last hand shake over the net. We expect all players to maintain good sportsmanship both on and off the court.Unsportsmanlike Players
It is important to provide you with quality opponents that follow the rules and produce a positive overall match experience. Please report all acts of unsportsmanlike conduct to the league office. If we do not hear from our players we can not take action. Not reporting problem players means other members will be subjected to the same behavior.Unsportsmanlike behavior includes but is not limited to:
- Being physically or verbally abusive towards an opponent
- Making multiple bad line calls
- Excessive questioning of line calls
- Consistent rude or argumentative behavior
- Being unresponsive to an opponents phone calls/emails
Did you know?
If you are unsure whether a ball was in or out, it is considered good and must be played. If a ball touches any part of the line, it is good. Thus a ball 99% out is still 100% good!
Remember, players make calls on their side of the net. What may look good from your side of the court may actually be out. Give your opponent the benefit of the doubt before jumping to a conclusion.
