Rating Exceptions
To exercise these options you must send us an email. We will review your request to determine if an exception is warranted.Exception #1 - If you played a first season player or "rookie" who has a +8.0 rating or higher and caused you to miss the move up criteria, we will review your request to move up.
Exception #2 - If you played against a first season player or "rookie" who had a -8.0 rating or lower, and it caused you to move up prematurely, we will review your request to stay at your current level.
Exception #3 - If you have a medical condition that requires you to play at a level lower than what is recommended by our rating system. Note: Any member who elects to exercise this exception and play at a level below than is recommended by our rating system will not be eligible to participate in the the playoffs for that season. This rule is in place to protect the legitimacy of the playoffs and is not negotiable.
Exception #4 - If you are playing at the 4.5 level or higher and you have qualified to move up based on your results in the "playoff tournament" you may request to remain at your current level only if: 1) Your skill level is the highest level offered in your market. 2) Your rating did not require you to move up.
If you do not qualify for the exception above you must move up a level. If there are not enough players to form a division at the higher level you will have to sit out a season until a division can be formed.
Exception #5 - A player competing at the 6.0 level is always eligible for the playoffs. First season player rules do not apply. Similarly a 6.0 player who earns a move up rating may continue to compete at the 6.0 level regardless of their rating. The 6.0 level is considered an "open level" event with no restrictions on how strong a player can. Professional and ex-professional players are welcome.
