Replacement Players
The league office will make every attempt to replace withdrawn players with a "replacement player" from the waiting list when there is an available player in the same section of town.
If you are a replacement player:
You are entering the league after play has begun therefore, as a new member you should take the initiative to alert your opponents that you have been added to the division. It is very important that you begin play with the week that is currently in progress.
Making up Past MatchesTo help replacement players make up past matches, we offer the following options:
- Existing players who have already reported a score or taken their average against a withdrawn player, may elect to replay you as the replacement player and keep the scores from the match yielding the most points.
- Replacement players may play a substitute player if the scheduled opponent is not availabe, but MAY NOT report a default and receive their average for matches that were already past due when the replacement player was added to the league.
Note: If you choose to replay a past match, you have the entire season to do so as long as scores are reported by the final season deadline. When making up past matches as a replacement player, matches scores must be emailed to customer service. Please let us know if you played an existing player who is keeping their original score.
Playoff Eligibility
To be eligible for the playoffs, all members, including replacement players must complete a minimum of 4 matches against the assigned opponents on their schedule. See Playoff Eligibility
If you are scheduled to play a replacement player:
As the season is in progress we will continually try to replace withdrawn players. If a replacement player is found for your division, you have the option but are not required to replay this match with the replacement player. If you choose to replay the match you have the entire season to do so as long as scores are reported by the final season deadline. We make every effort to make this a favorable situation for you by allowing you to replay the match and choose the better scores for yourself. This enables you to play the new player in your division, have more tennis, and not be penalized for it! You may choose to:
- Play the replacement player and elect to use the score from the match, or
- Play the replacement player and elect to keep your original score (including your average) for yourself
