Match Scheduling

The Ultimate Tennis format is designed to provide you with maximum flexibility and convenience. You and your opponent select the day and time of your matches!

Primary Week

Each player has one assigned match per week. The primary weeks are numbered 1 through 8 on a player's schedule. Weeks run from Saturday through Friday.

Make Up Week

Players are allowed a one week extension from their primary week to complete each match. The last day of the "Make up week" is the deadline for reporting scores, shown as the Due date on your schedule. The only exception is if you use your Late Pass

Match Times

Players must be prepared to schedule their matches during the reasonable and customary start times shown below. Matches may be scheduled outside of these times only if it's mutually agreeable to both players.

How to schedule

1. Players should offer at least three available days per week to schedule a match. Ask your opponent what days and times would be most convenient. If a mutually agreeable day and time is found, then schedule the match.
2. If a suitable time can't be found during the primary week, players should set up a time during the make-up week.
3. If a suitable time can't be found during the make-up week, players should discuss whether to use their Late Pass to complete the match.
4. If players elect not to use their Free Pass, then the player who was most available during the primary week of play has these options:
   • Reporting a default and receiving their Current Average
   • Schedule a match with a Substitute Player
5. The less available player has these options:
   • Schedule a match with a Substitute Player
   • Be defaulted and receive a zero

Rescheduling Matches

Each player is allowed only one "reschedule" from the initial match date before the opposing player is awarded the "default option". To be eligible for rescheduling, matches must be cancelled at least three hours prior to the scheduled match start time. An opposing player is not obligated to reschedule any match cancelled with less than three hours notice. To insure players are notified in a timely manner of the need to reschedule a match, players are encouraged to utilize all listed numbers as opposed to only email.

Note: Weather related cancellations are exempt from the above rule. Players must refer to our Inclement Weather Policy when a match must be rescheduled due to weather.

Did you know?

• Matches may always be played ahead of schedule! This is encouraged if you know in advance you will be unable to play certain weeks.
• Players need to be available to play during the week as well as on the weekends. Not just one or the other.
• You must complete a minimum of 4 matches against the assigned opponents on your schedule to be eligible for the playoffs. Matches against subs, averages, and defaults, do NOT count toward the 4 match minimum.
