Contacting Opponents
Our unique league format is the most flexible and convenient way to play tennis. Make sure you know the following key rules and options.Did you know?
- Both team captains are responsible for contacting each other. It is not the home team's responsibility to make the first contact.
- Matches should be scheduled by the Wednesday preceding the assigned week of play.
- Contact with the opposing team's captain should be made using both phone and email.
- Captains are required to give the opposing captain at least three different dates of availability to play during the scheduled time period.
- There is a two week window to complete each match. The regular week plus the make up week.
- Use common courtesy when arranging your matches. Rude phone behavior leads to on court confrontations.
- Matches may be played ahead of schedule.
- To aid in scheduling matches, each team is provided one Late Pass to use each season in order to report a late score.
- Teams must respect the "home" team's choice of venue and court surface. Your personal preference might not be another's.
- Completing matches in a timely fashion is the league's most valuable asset.
Unable to Contact Opponent
If a team captain is unable to contact the opponent, check the "online schedule" to see if there have been any updates to the division. New phone numbers, email address, withdrawn and replacement player information are posted daily.
If a team captain has attempted to contact the opponent at least twice, using both phone and email and received no reply by Wednesday of the scheduled week of play, the captain may choose to:
- Report a default and receive 12 points.
